God Is And Isn’t Eternal Per The Mormon Church

Is God eternal

Is God Eternal? In this video I contrast the nature of God as recorded in the Bible, with a multitude of Mormon teachings. One fact that may surprise you is the existence of many and varied definitions of God. By contrast, the biblical definition is consistent and uniform from Genesis to Revelation.

Questions for Mormon Bishops

  • According to John 1:1, Jesus was God and He was with God in the beginning. How is this possible if the Mormon god was once a man who was not yet born in the beginning?
  • The Book of Mormon’s title page states, “Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God. ” However, just before his death, Joseph Smith said, “We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea …” Which is true?
  • According to the Prophet Joseph Smith and Lorenzo Snow, the Mormon god was once a man as we are now. If this is so, how is he eternally God?

  1. The Book of Mormon and D&C teaches God has always been God, Alma 11:44 and D&C 20:28

    1. Thanks for the comment. But, you have a problem,

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. (1 Corinthians 14:33, King James Version)

Joseph Smith said, “We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see. These are incomprehensible ideas to some, but they are simple. It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the Character of God, and to know that we may converse with him as one man converses with another and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did, and I will show it from the Bible” (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp.345-346).

So, when your scripture says one thing and your prophet says another, there is confusion which can only be the fruit of false god.
