Ask Your Bishop meets are like Zoom meetings but with a focus on simplicity. There is nothing to install on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. To enter a meeting, you simply open an Internet browser and go to the website I provide.
Objectives
Regarding the tension between Mormonism and biblical Christianity, only three possibilities exist.
Mormonism is true, and biblical Christianity is false.
Biblical Christianity is true, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is in error.
Or, both are wrong together.
Christians and Mormons want to be disciples of Jesus Christ. What then are we to do? The Lord said, “Come now, and let us reason together.” This seems like a wonderful place to start. To follow God’s direction, we are pleased to offer live meetings. Some are specifically for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Others are for biblical Christians.
Features and Rules
Facial Security: When you enter a discussion, the system will automatically deactivate your camera so no one will see your face. You may activate your camera, but I never will.
Vocal Security: You may join the discussion verbally. Or, you may mute your mic and send a private message to me. I will read your comment to the group on your behalf.
Respect: There will be no bashing of any faith tradition. We will examine biblical and LDS beliefs, ask relevant questions, and allow each person to form their individual conclusions. I will remove anyone who violates this policy.
Order: If you desire to present a meaningful point, click on the provided raise hand icon. As the moderator, I will recognize you, and all will hear what you have to say. Other participants may respond briefly and respectfully to the discussion, but no one may interrupt or talk over another. I will remove anyone who violates this policy.
Announcements: Approximately 24 hours before a scheduled meeting, you will receive a notification of a pending meeting. Approximately one hour before the meeting, you will receive a second email with a meeting address (meet.askyourbishop.com/unique_ meeting_name). At the appointed time, you may enter the meeting from any web browser. We support desktop, laptop, tablet, and smartphone participation.
